The Peninsula London, owned by The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels’ (HSH) Ltd, will officially open on 12 September 2023.

The long-awaited hotel, which will include the new Peninsula Spa, is now accepting reservations for stays from early autumn. The hotel will open first, with the spa scheduled to be revealed later in Q4.

Louise Molloy, previously director of spa & recreation at Sofitel, has been announced as director of spa & wellness.

She has more than 25 years experience in five-star hospitality operations having worked with numerous brands including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, The Langham and cryotherapy wellness studio RESYNC in Dubai.

A sleek, spacious aesthetic

The newly-built hotel, situated where London’s Hyde Park Corner meets Wellington Arch, has been designed to harmonise with the heritage buildings of Belgravia.

Interiors and the 190 guests rooms are the vision of Peter Marino in partnership with Hopkins Architects.

The hotel centres around an expansive, off-street courtyard, landscaped in the style of a classic English garden with cascading ivy and wisteria vines.

Dining and drinks offerings will include the hotel’s signature rooftop restaurant, Brooklands, run by Michelin-starred Chef Director Claude Bosi.

“We are delighted to launch The Peninsula London, which is the culmination of decades of looking for the most exceptional location in London. We believe the dedication of our people and project teams will make this a unique hotel that will stand out not only in London, but globally.”

The spa will have seven treatment rooms – six private and one for couples – and is being billed as ‘a serene sanctuary for health and beauty pursuits’. Partnering product houses have yet to be announced.

An array of relaxation and wellbeing choices will be available including mind-body therapies, exercise classes and workshops offered at the fitness centre.

There will be a dramatically lit 25m indoor swimming pool, plus saunas and steam rooms for men and women.

A dedicated digital Wellness Portal will provide guests with in-room, round-the-clock access to wellness programming.

Special-event venues set to open later this year include the St. George Ballroom, configurable conference rooms and an intimate private cinema.

The hotel’s ground-floor retail arcade will have nine luxury boutiques such as Asprey London, Mouawad, Moussaieff Diamond and a floral shop.

Also new this year, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels’ Peninsula Istanbul opened in the spring with a 1,675sqm spa and wellness centre.
