The Peninsula Istanbul announces spring opening

Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels (HSH) has shared a first look at the new Peninsula Istanbul, which is set to open February 2023.

The hotel will include a 1,675sq m Peninsula Spa and Wellness Centre, which is set to offer traditional Turkish hammams, a dramatically lit 25m indoor pool as well as a 25m outdoor pool and eight private treatment rooms.

While the offering will include an extensive menu of treatments, partners have yet to be announced.

Physical fitness, mindfulness classes and workshops will also be offered at a dedicated fitness centre.

Meanwhile, a Wellness Portal will provide in-room, round-the-clock access to wellness programmes including guided exercise routines, aromatherapy self-care rituals, and audio meditations.

A heritage hotel

On banks of the Bosphorus in Istanbul’s Karaköy district, The Peninsula Istanbul is the anchor hotel for a new waterfront revitalisation project called Galataport.

The heritage hotel is also within walking distance of Istanbul’s historic landmarks Galata Tower, Galata Bridge, the Hagia Sophia Mosque, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace.

“The opening of The Peninsula Istanbul represents a glorious new chapter for our brand,” said Peter Borer, chief operating officer of HSH. “With our new property, we are delighted to offer a magnificent new location that fulfils the most discerning travel dreams.”

The hotel will include 177 rooms and suites spread among four waterfront buildings. A 510sqm Peninsula Suite will feature its own hammam, gym, and rooftop swimming pool.
