The Peninsula London announces early 2023 opening

Overlooking Hyde Park Corner and the Wellington Arch, The Peninsula London is set to include The Peninsula Spa – billed as ‘a serene sanctuary for health and beauty pursuits’.

Opening in early 2023, the newly constructed hotel has been designed in partnership with Hopkins Architects and interior designer Peter Marino – his first London hotel.

A ‘celebration of British art and craftsmanship’, the hotel has been designed to reflect the grandeur of its neighbourhood, drawing inspiration from Belgravia architecture and three local royal parks.

The design maximises natural light and green spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows and a shaded garden courtyard.

The Peninsula Spa will include a state-of-the art fitness centre staffed by personal trainers, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, saunas and steam rooms for men and women, plus six private treatment rooms and one couples’ treatment room.

Partnering product houses have yet to be announced, but treatments are set to include therapeutic massage and aromatherapy.

The 190 guest rooms and suites will offer the largest average room size in London, starting from 56sqm.

Restaurants will include a fine-dining rooftop restaurant, a theatrical Cantonese restaurant and The Lobby, which will bring The Peninsula Hotels’ legendary afternoon tea to London.

Also new for Spring, Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels’ (HSH) Peninsula Istanbul will open on February 14 with a 1,675sqm spa and wellness centre.
