The Spa at Carden has expanded its offering to launch its first women-only spa sessions.

The female-only events are designed to provide an opportunity for women to spend quality time with their friends, sisters, mothers or in the solace of their own company, without feeling compromised.

The female-only spa sessions also target women who may have spa anxiety. A survey put together by The Good Spa Guide noted that 18 per cent of women felt worried about going to a spa because of their body confidence.

Another contributing factor in the spa’s decision to offer female-only spa sessions was to ensure inclusivity among spa guests who may not be able to enjoy the usual spa environment due to cultural or religious reasons.

“After many enquiries from women looking for a female-only spa options, we’ve launched our ladies-only spa events to provide a haven for our female guests to unwind and indulge."

“Sometimes our female guests are body conscious and so don’t want to attend a traditional session. And for religious reasons, some female guests aren’t able to fully use the facilities in a traditional session,” said Emma Pridding, spa director, The Spa at Carden. “This opens our doors to all, and our commitment extends to having all-female staff on these special days.”

Carden Park has previously worked with modest swimwear fashion brand LYRA Swim, bringing together 15 female Muslim influencers to dispel the misconception that modest swimwear isn’t accepted in the spa environment.

Skincare workshops at Carden

On the women-only days there will be small group skincare workshops so women can learn more about the skincare they need to suit their skin, and how to extend the spa experience beyond the session.

The Spa at Carden’s facilities include one of the UK’s largest spa gardens filled with hot tubs, a heated vitality pool, thermal pods and herbal lounge area. The indoor thermal facilities include saunas, a tepidarium, steam rooms and experience showers.

The first women-only dates are March 6 and May 1, with more to be confirmed.
