SHA Wellness Clinic has announced plans to expand its wellness offering in 2026 with an exclusive island wellness island in AlJurf, UAE.

In partnership with Abu Dhabi-based development partner IMKAN, SHA Wellness Clinic will launch SHA Emirates, on the coastline between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Billed as the world’s first ‘healthy living island’, this is the next step in SHA’s global expansion plans. It will be the Spanish brand’s third global outpost.

SHA Emirates – the world’s first ‘healthy living island’

The 12.5-hectare SHA Emirates island will be located on the ‘Riviera of the Emirates’.

SHA Emirates Island at AlJurf will be crafted with a strong focus on residents’ wellbeing. As well as a new model of residential living for the region, the exclusive island will integrate a SHA Wellness Clinic.

It follows the opening of SHA Mexico in January 2024, which was the brand’s first venture outside of Spain.

“As we celebrate 15 years, we’re excited to bring the unique SHA Method to the Middle East. We travelled to dozens of locations in search of the perfect natural environment and found everything we could imagine, and more, at AlJurf.”

Co-founder and VP, SHA Wellness Clinic

The private island of AlJurf has been sensitively developed to balance a tranquil lifestyle with access to unrivalled community facilities and outdoor activities.

The SHA Emirates development will comprise 86 villas with beach access, 49 apartments and two penthouses.

Amenities will include customised wellness and fitness programmes, holistic treatments in the on-site SHA spa and medical treatments within the SHA Wellness Clinic.

The SHA Method, which integrates cutting-edge treatments in the fields of preventive, genetic and anti-ageing with natural therapies and therapeutic nutrition, will be available on site.

There will also be a sports pavilion, marine pavilion offering water sports and sea activities, and a family pavilion. A holistic pavilion will focus on mental and spiritual wellbeing, with yoga and meditation offerings.

A strong focus on wellbeing

The 360-degree healthy living concept, unique to SHA Emirates Island, will be brought to life by a team of architects and designers – NMDC, SAOTA, HBA, SIEC and OTAK.

SHA Emirates Island is being created with the aim of achieving the WELL building certification from Delos, the global authority on green building and practices.

The build will prioritise natural materials, organic design and landscaping with existing vegetation as support.

A range of passive design strategies, such as thoughtful orientation and the integration of wind and shading elements, will minimise energy consumption. Solar-powered heating and electricity sources will be used for improved sustainability.

“The partnership between IMKAN and SHA Wellness Clinic has a shared vision to become a catalyst for health and wellness in the UAE. SHA Emirates Island will position AlJurf as the first destination in wellness tourism. It is the ideal setting for our wellness-led project.”

Every facet of the SHA residences is being crafted not only to pay homage to the natural beauty of the location.

The SHA Method

SHA Emirates Island will only be accessible to residents and guests. Renowned doctors, therapists, personal trainers, yoga and meditation instructors on their doorstep will all available around the clock.

As a pioneer in integrative health and wellbeing, the SHA Wellness Clinic will continue the brand’s mission to help people live longer and better lives through a holistic and comprehensive approach to health.

SHA will provide medical and therapeutic assessments, and personalised health programmes tailored to each guest upon arrival.
