SHA Wellness Clinic announces the opening of SHA Mexico

Marking the start of ambitious plans to have a presence on every continent, SHA Wellness Clinic has opened its Mexican outpost.

The pioneering medical wellness brand has made Mexico the first phase of its global expansion plans, building on the success of its flagship clinic in Spain.

Located in the state of Quintana Roo, in the eastern portion of the Yucatán Peninsula, SHA Mexico sits above the Mayan jungle.

The building is inspired in the human genome and the complex is made up of 35 residences, plus 100 rooms and suites.

Designed by Mexican architectural firm Sordo Madaleno and interior designer Alejandro Escudero, the property blends the indoors with the outdoors and has a sustainable, contemporary feel.

The property’s tropical gardens have been curated by Maat Handasa, who designed the landscape to respect local species.

SHA’s first satellite site has its own stretch of beach and sits across from the largest coral reef in the northern hemisphere.

The award-winning medical holistic brand celebrated its 15th anniversary last year.

The SHA Method

SHA is best known for the pioneering SHA Method, which blends preventive, genetic and anti-ageing medicine with natural therapies and ancient healing.

SHA’s intensive programmes take a a 360-degree approach to wellbeing. Guests at SHA Mexico will choose between four personalised health programmes, which mimic those on offer in SHA’s renowned Spanish clinic.

Programmes range from four to 21 days and cover four areas of health – Rebalance and Re-energise, Detox and Optimal Weight, Well-Ageing and Prevention, and Leader’s Performance.

Each programme is curated to meet guests’ needs through nine key disciplines. These include healthy nutrition, holistic medicine, cognitive stimulation and advanced preventive diagnostics.

These disciplines come together to form the SHA Method.

Inside SHA Mexico’s wellness facilities

As well as a spa and a hydrotherapy circuit, SHA Mexico has medical consultation rooms, mind and body rooms, a fitness studio and yoga and meditation sanctuaries.

There is also an Athletics Club with outdoor and indoor training areas, four distinctive movement studios, a virtual-reality jogging track, an infinity pool and a beach club.

SHA’s global expansion plans

The SHA Wellness global expansion plans have been developed by the brand’s owners, AB Living Group, to reflect consumer demand for health and wellbeing. A further opening is set for the Emirates in 2025.

The decision to move to Mexico was led by an in-depth analysis of various locations, their climate and surrounding environment. Through this new venture, SHA Wellness Clinic will continue to drive its integrated medical wellness concept forwards.
