Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort in South Tyrol, Italy, has revealed plans to open a new spa in February 2027.

Designed by renowned spa creator Patrizia Bortolin, the spa will mark the next evolution of the resort’s wellness philosophy, the Preidlhof Way.

The new spa will embody seven years of innovation and refinement of the brand’s approach to transformational wellbeing.

Bortolin introduced the Preidlhof Way philosophy in 2019 and the new spa will bring her long-held vision full circle. It has been designed to complement the resort’s Transformational Wellness Retreats, therapies, holistic classes and wellbeing programmes.

“Every space has the power to influence how we feel, how we connect and how we heal. New places, experiences and perspectives can open the door to transformation. The spa is designed to support that journey. More than a collection of spaces, it is an environment created to inspire curiosity, authentic connection and meaningful change.”

The new Preidlhof spa

The Preidlhof Way is rooted in Aristotle’s philosophy of the balance between hedonic and eudaimonic wellbeing.

The new 604sqm Preidlhof spa will be a space dedicated to reflection, restoration and personal flourishing. The redesigned area will include both renovated existing spaces and newly developed areas.

Upon completion, Preidlhof’s overall wellness area will expand to approximately 5,700sqm.

Designed around the experiences of guests, therapists and healers, the spa will be an environment where treatments, holistic classes, nature and human connection can be experienced as part of an intuitive wellness journey.

The Preidlhof spa will include ten individual treatment rooms and one couples’ room as well as two elevated Garden Spa treatment rooms with panoramic views.

There will be a holistic class and sound healing room, a crystal meditation room and a new sauna and steam room.

A panoramic fitness area will overlook the resort and Val Venosta, while enlarged relaxation areas will surround the central pool.

The new spa garden, reserved for spa guests, will offer outdoor relaxation and wellbeing experiences. There will also be a beauty shop, wellness library and Walk of Love featuring local artisanal craftsmanship.

The elements have been designed to enhance flow, privacy and wellbeing, while contributing to a more intuitive and immersive wellness experience.

“As we celebrate 60 years of Preidlhof, we are reminded that evolution has always been part of our story. For three generations, our family has continually looked to the future while staying true to the warmth, authenticity and personal care that define the Preidlhof experience.”

A balance between hedonic and eudaimonic wellbeing

“At Preidlhof, our focus is not simply on what we offer, but on what guests are able to discover, experience and become,” said Bortolin, who is leading the conceptual development, spatial planning and interior design of the new spa.

“Through nature, human connection and sensorial integration, we’ll create opportunities for guests to expand awareness, reconnect with themselves and remain open to spontaneity, surprise and new possibilities.”

Bortolin has spent more than 25 years creating innovative wellness concepts, spas and transformative guest experiences around the world.

She is the visionary behind the Preidlhof Way and wellness concept manager at Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort resort. She is also co-founder of Glowing Flow Wellness Specialists.

Preidlhof's new TechnoAlpin snow room adds a contrast-therapy experience to the resort's current facilities for 2026

New for 2026

Preidlhof has also opened a snow room by TechnoAlpin Indoor, to add a new contrast-therapy experience to the resort’s offering.

Maintained at approximately -10°C, the snow room invites guests to move between heat, cold and deep relaxation as part of a carefully curated sensorial journey.

The addition complements Preidlhof’s iconic six-floor Sauna Tower, home to 18 sauna, steam and relaxation experiences, including the world’s only Deep-Sea Relaxation Room, winner of a Spa Innovation Prize, alongside daily aufguss ceremonies and guided sauna rituals.

Further details of the new spa, including retreat concepts and guest experiences, will be unveiled in the coming months.
