ZEM Wellness Clinic announces January 2025 opening

The pioneering medical clinic, set to open in Spain, will offer the latest in medical wellness, science and nutrition alongside holistic practices

A new medical wellness clinic is set to open in Altea, Spain in January 2025.

ZEM Wellness Clinic Altea’s offer will be is based on Mediterranean longevity. As well as the latest in medicine and science, it will offer nutritional programming rooted in the Mediterranean diet and holistic practices.

Set over ten acres, it will encompass the 4,000sqm Zem Spa plus 95 suites, with views across the bay of Altea and island of La Olla.

The clinic will offer advanced medical technology across 32 different practices including cardiology, dermo-aesthetics, nutrition, dentistry, regenerative medicine and pain management.

A spokesperson for the clinic said: “Zem Spa will activate all guests’ senses and, above all, their basal metabolism through direct contact with all the elements of nature. This will greatly increase the effectiveness of any of our clinical programmes.

“Our USP, far from boasting the latest architectural innovations, is that we have succeeded in designing a space that facilitates reconnection with oneself and the natural environment.

ZEM Wellness Clinic Altea is more than just a health programme. It is about reordering priorities, internalising prevention and forming healthy habits for the future. Guests learn to embrace, understand and positively accept the passage of time.”

Rooted in the principles of Mediterranean Longevity

The concept will embrace all the newest advancements in medical science, nutrition and holistic practices to allow guests to enhance their life expectancy.

The clinic will offer tailored health programmes and preventative medical treatments. These will be combined with ancient therapies and ancestral wisdom. This holistic approach is designed to contribute to personal transformation for each guest.

A team of experts – including doctors, therapists, psychologists and nutritionists – will cover 25 specialities. New technology features prominently – there is a Zestos DryFloat by Metawell, a Welnamis by Gharieni and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

Integrated health programmes at ZEM

The six integrated health programmes will cover two fundamental areas of prevention. Longevity will aims to create the conditions for a longer and fuller life. Balance and Vitality will focus on weight control and body cleansing, stress management and the restoration of balance.

In addition, each programme can be combined with complementary treatments called Boosts. These Boosts focus on six specific areas, including dermo-aesthetics, pain relief and sleep.

Each of ZEM’s programmes will come with a personalised food plan based on Mediterranean Diet principles. All menus will be prepared using local organic food grown from the Clinic’s certified sustainable farm, Finca Althaya.

The clinic and Zem Spa will have 44 treatment rooms, divided into three main areas: recovery, detox and relaxation.

Within the spa, there are multiple hydrothermal experiences including a bio-sauna, hammam, infrared cabin and mud cabin, plus snow and ice cabins.

There will be a hydrojet pool, cold and hot plunge wells, a Watsu pool and three outdoor swimming pools. Suppliers include Godo Pools, Gharieni, Nilo, Lemi and Technogym.

The interior design will feature natural materials and handcrafted furniture.

Special attention has been paid to ensuring the Mediterranean light filters through every corner to enhance wellbeing.
