The Lakes by YOO,a  luxury rural estate, will this month open its much-anticipated Lakes Spa & Wellness Centre.

Sustainably designed by YOO Studio, the Spa & Wellness Centre builds on the estate’s vision to be an epicentre of wellbeing in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The Lakes by YOO is a shared vision of property developer John Hitchcox and designer Philippe Starck and the Spa & Wellness Centre will elevate the estate’s wellness offering for residents and guests.

Longevity-based programmes

The spa’s philosophy is inspired by the world’s Blue Zones – five regions (Sardinia, Okinawa in Japan, Nicoya in Costa Rica, Ikaria in Greece and Loma Linda, California) where people live the longest and healthiest lives.

As such, the centre offers an escape into nature to help spa goers rediscover their purpose. Longevity-based programmes will help to strengthen the immune system, build resilience and accelerate recovery.

There are three unique treatment rooms, each with their own character, inspired by the property’s feature flowers, such as roses.

One room is a holistic sanctuary for Cosmoss treatments, the wellness brand by Kate Moss providing rituals inspired by its ethos of dusk and dawn rituals.

The massage trilogy

Founded on the brand’s core belief that our bodies are intrinsically tied to the land and the tides, Moss of the Isles’ treatments at The Lakes by YOO will include a Massage Trilogy.

Divided into a series of moments, guests will be led through three massages using essential oils to help balance the body.

Beginning with a cleansing and invigorating body brush, the  ‘Quiet’ phase is followed by a ‘Warm’ moment.

The Wildsmith way

Wildsmith Skin is inspired by circadian rhythms, so therapists will align treatments to the time of day.

Options include the Wildsmith Radical Botany facial and Wildsmith body massage – an entirely bespoke massage individually adapted to suit guests’ needs.

The final treatment room is dedicated to facialist, performing treatments from brands including Dr Barbara Sturm.

Dr. Sturm facials will deliver hydration, boost skin barrier function, soothe signs of irritation and improve the overall skin health. Treatments include the Signature #SturmGlow Facial, the Super Anti-Aging facial and a men’s facial.

Two of the treatment rooms will have their own ice baths located in the private outdoor relaxation area that overlooks the spa garden.

Spa facilities

The spa, which employs three full-time therapists and five part-time therapists, will also offer cryotherapy, infrared sauna, LED and PEM therapies.

There is a 20m indoor pool by Buckingham Pools, a sauna from Ultimate Generation and a steam room supplied by Milk Leisure. Towels and spa linens have been provided by Scrummi Spa and Regency Linen.

Future retreats will be centred around meditation, yoga, breathwork and holistic healing and run by with world-renowned author Dr. Deepak Chopra.

The space’s fitness suite features Technogym Skill equipment and an Escape Fitness rig and there are also personal training and yoga classes on offer.

The wellness centre’s boutique will stock bespoke wild swimming suits designed by Melissa Odabash exclusively for The Lakes by YOO.

The Spa & Wellness Centre at The Lakes by Yoo aims to provide a natural sense of wellbeing

“At The Lakes by YOO, we’ve always encouraged our residents and guests to spend as much time out in our incredible natural surroundings as possible – wild swimming, cycling, walking.” says owner John Hitchcox. “Naturally with this comes a real sense of calm, stillness and ultimately, wellbeing.

“A more advanced wellness offering is a natural next step for us, so we are thrilled that this month marks the opening of The Lakes Spa & Wellness Centre, centred around longevity-first programme.”
