Glasgow’s five-star Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has launched a new wellness concierge and ‘Shroom service’.

The Stay Well package sees the hotel swapping its traditional minibar offerings, such as crisps and alcohol, for wellness products in response to a growing demand for in-room self-care and wellbeing options.

Research from McKinsey in 2022 found wellness was a key priority for 50% of the consumers, rising to an important one for 81%.

Supporting health and wellness

The customised wellness minibar includes gut health-advancing kombucha from You + I, which is fermented with French oak. There is a CBD tincture by Puresport and iodine-filled seaweed capsules from Weed & Wonderful.

The holistic wellness experience also includes the Shroom service, which is believed to be the first of its kind.

Available on request, the Shroom service gives guests access to adaptogen-packed functional mushrooms, hailed as the next CBD by Condé Nast Traveller.

Clinically trialled and proven to support healthy cognition, the non-toxic, non-psychoactive mushrooms from Four Sigmatic deliver mood enhancement, increased energy and increased focus.

“The introduction of our Stay Well package is setting the tone for what’s to come, ahead of our relaunch of Spa at Blythswood Square this summer,” said Finlay Anderson, spa director, Kimpton Blythswood Square and area spa director, IHG.

“We’re encouraging guests to look after their bodies and minds, and make the most of their time to themselves.”

Swell sound therapy in every room

The package comes ahead of a spa relaunch in July, ushering in what the hotel describes as an ‘elevated era of wellness’ for Glasgow.

An ishga self-care bath experience kit is also included, with invigorating body oil and Hebridean bath salt.

Guided ishga yoga flows and Swell sound therapy can also be found in each room, alongside yoga mats, an exercise ball and foam rollers.

The Stay Well package costs £130 and can be added to any room type.
