Lakeside holiday estate Silverlake has announced plans for new outdoor ‘wilderness wellness’ spa in Dorset.

The Firefly Spa, set to open on August 1, has been designed around a concept that combines wild swimming, thermal experiences, cold plunges, paddleboard yoga and forest bathing.

Owned by Habitat First Group, Silverlake is the brand’s second private, holiday home community. Firefly Spa marks a new chapter for the destination, strengthening its long-term vision of sustainability and nature-led living.

The new spa will strive to offer a fresh take on the traditional spa day, encouraging guests to reconnect with the outdoors through immersive experiences inspired by the surrounding landscape.

“Demand for wellness experiences that feel genuinely restorative and connected to nature continues to grow. Firefly Spa represents our largest investment to date and marks an important milestone in the estate’s long-term evolution. We wanted to create something that feels entirely different from a traditional spa experience, where guests move between lake water, heat, cold therapy and open skies.”

Set on the edge of the Jurassic Coast, the luxury outdoor spa experience will bring together wild swimming, thermal wellness and nature immersion.

Designated wild swimming areas will be positioned to encourage guests to slow down and fully embrace the landscape.

At the heart of the spa there will be a 25-metre heated outdoor pool alongside a sauna, cold plunge and treatment rooms offering therapies by ESPA. Signature treatments will include the ESPA Natural Face Lift and Instant Renewal Cryo Facial. Robes and towels will be supplied by BC SoftWear.

Curated sensory elements throughout the spa will include soundscapes inspired by birdsong, rainfall and woodland winds, designed to deepen the feeling of escapism and calm.

A new restaurant overlooking the water will complement the wider wellness experience.

“By blurring the boundary between inside and outside, we’ve created a space where guests can slow down, reconnect with the environment and experience the restorative power of the landscape,” said Abi Selby, spa strategist for Firefly.

“We wanted to create something that feels genuinely different from a traditional spa experience; somewhere that embraces the wild beauty of the landscape while still delivering comfort, calm and a sense of escape.”

Beyond the spa itself, guests will have access to a programme of nature-led wellness experiences including cold plunges and breathwork sessions, sunrise and sunset lake swimming and paddleboard yoga.

Outdoor personal training, sauna rituals, forest bathing and guided floating mindfulness sessions will take place alongside access to the estate’s ten-acre lake.

Wellness talks covering topics such as menopause and holistic wellbeing will further enhance the offering. Children will be welcome, reinforcing a relaxed and accessible approach to wellness.

Memberships will be available from £1,200 per year for local residents, with pricing tiers available for Silverlake homeowners.

A second phase of the wellness offering, planned for 2027, will include a gym, further expanding the estate’s health and fitness facilities.
