Ragdale Hall Spa appoints managing director to lead future development

Ragdale Hall Spa has appointed Helen Bull as managing director to lead the team, following leadership retirements. Directors Hugh Wilson and Allison Garner announced their retirement after 35 years spent leading the award-winning spa.

This follows the news that the property was sold to US-based Fortress Investment Group, a global investment manager with a portfolio in hospitality, in 2025. Fortress appointed Davidson Hospitality Group as operational partner, to boost Ragdale’s strategic capabilities. Read the full story here.

Bull brings more than 30 years of commercial experience in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry. Her career spans sales, marketing and senior leadership roles.

Stepping into her new position, she will lead a team of 525 employees at the 93-bedroom property.

New leadership

Bull previously worked at Merlin Entertainments, where she was responsible for long-term resort strategy.

This included delivering financial targets and overseeing the operational running of the resort for both guests and employees.

“I’m proud to be handing over the reins to Helen,” said Hugh Wilson. “Ragdale Hall Spa is an incredible brand and business with a strong team and foundation. Allison and I will be stepping away confident that Ragdale is in safe hands and will become even more remarkable.”

Spa heritage

The renowned property has a rich spa history spanning 50 years and Bull has plans for Ragdale’s future growth. “It is a privilege to join a brand that is so highly regarded and continue the success that Hugh and Allison have had a huge part in creating,” she said.

“I look forward to using my experience and expertise to lead Ragdale Hall Spa into its next era.”
