Raison d’Etre scholarship awarded to Muscat Group operations manager

Raison d’Etre has awarded the first-ever scholarship for its Spa Business Management online education course to Rail Illigan. 

The scholarship, worth $2,195 (€2,085, £1,775),  entitles Illigan – who currently serves as group operations manager of male spa and salon at Spaloon Al Mawaleh in Muscat, Oman – to Raison d’Etre’s complete Spa Business Management course.

Led by spa development specialists, the comprehensive online spa management course covers all aspects of running a spa, with modules covering topics such as marketing, budgets, human resources, service excellence, leadership, business planning and sustainability. 

The course, which offers students the opportunity to study from anywhere at any time, was developed by a team of leading industry experts and is based on expertise cultivated from a wealth of industry experience.

Illigan will also have access to a personal course mentor, who will help him get the most out of his training, as well as an online community where he will be able to collaborate with fellow students, alumni and Raison d’Etre educators. 

“Having been in the spa industry a long time, I want to equip my experience with proper education, as this is the missing part,” Illigan wrote in his scholarship application. 

“I taught myself about spa management by reading articles, blogs and spa magazines, but for me it’s still not enough. This scholarship will help me to further my career and move to the next level in the spa industry,” he added.
