Old Course Hotel and Spa unveils refurbishment

Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa has unveiled a series of major renovations to its Kohler Waters Spa.

Situated on the coast of Scotland, in the historic town of St Andrews, the five-star Old Course Hotel features the only Kohler Waters Spa outside of the US.

The reknowned Hotel is hosting this year’s Global Wellness Summit, which is co-chaired by Nina Kohler.

It boasts a range of impressive hydro and thermal facilities, and offers wellness workshops and treatments from Temple Spa, Phytomer and Made for Life Organics.

The spa also features Moroccan Oil, Seed to Skin, Neom, Margarett Dabbs, On The Green CBD and CND.

New Espuro Foam Experience by KLAFS

The spa is now home to the Espuro Foam Experience steam room. Said to be a first for the UK, the high-tech KLAFS product has been installed in the fully refurbished ladies changing room and offers a 15-20 minute foaming ritual.

The unique experience includes soft light and music before the fragrant, plant-based foam fills the cabin up to chest level.

The Hydrotherapy Suite in Kohler water Spa has been renovated with interiors and finishes receiving an upgrade, continuing the calming design of the spa pool throughout the space.

New Kohler Experience Showers have also been installed, featuring digital displays that allow guests to configure and control outlets, temperature and flow.

A focus on wellness

This major refurbishment is part of a larger renewed focus on wellness at Old Course Hotel.

There is a reinvigorated programme of workshops on offer including autumn equinox and winter solstice yoga, beach meditation, Pilates and a planned cold water wellness retreat. The Spa Cafe has also benefitted from a renewed wellness menu.

The Kohler Waters Spa renovation includes:

• New Kohler Experience Showers installed in the Hydrotherapy Suite
• New KLAFS sauna and steam room installed in the Hydrotherapy Suite
• New KLAFS steam room including Espuro Foam Experience
• Full refurbishment of spa’s Hydrotherapy Suite
• Full refurbishment of ladies changing rooms
• All new Kohler plumbing installed throughout

Global Wellness Summit 2024

This refurbishment has been planned to coincide with the arrival of international wellness delegates attending the 2024 Global Wellness Summit, which will also be hosted at the hotel in early November.

Kohler Co. acquired Old Course Hotel in 2004 and is a global leader in the design, innovation and manufacturing of bath products which are installed throughout the hotel.

The Kohler Waters Spa utilises the brand’s state-of-the-art, elegant designs to create a truly relaxing environment, inspired by the natural restorative properties of earth’s mineral-rich waters. Kohler acquired KLAFS last year. Read more of that story here.
