Medical Wellness Congress 2022: Integrating health and wellness

The first-ever Medical Wellness Congress (MWC) took place at the end of June after experiencing several delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Held at the St Martin’s Lodge & Spa Hotel in Austria, the event, entitled ‘The Healing Power of Self-Awareness and the Integration of Health in Wellness,’ welcomed 100 professionals from across the global and European spa, wellness and hospitality industries for two days of workshops, keynote speeches and networking. 

Integrating Health into Wellness

The event was opened by Dr George Gaitanos, chief operating and science officer at Chenot Group, who delivered a speech entitled ‘Integrating Health into Wellness; The Chenot Perspective.’

Other experts on the speaker roster included spa architect and Studio Apostoli founder Alberto Apostoli; Zulal Wellness Resort director Sandie Johannessen; wellness expert Andrew Gibson; ASPA CEO Martin Goldman; La Pura Women’s Health Resort managing director Bärbel Frey and Health Tourism CEO Laszlo Pucko.

The event was supported by media partner European Spa with commercial support from Gharieni, Olivier Claire, Artofcryo.com, Biologique Recherche, Kerstin Florian, Swissline and Laboratoire Revitacare France. 

The second edition of MWC is set to take place between April 24-25, 2023, at St Martin’s Spa & Lodge in Frauenkirchen, Austria.

Wellbeing solutions

The event was organised by ForumHOTel&Spa founder Vladi Kovanic in partnership with Health and Beauty France, a subsidiary of Bolognafiere Cosmoprof managed by Pradip Bala.

Speaking to European Spa, Kovanic said: “The aim was to create a specialist event to offer different solutions in wellbeing.

“More than just a congress, the MWC has brought together a community of experts and practitioners with a common vision to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of their clients.” 

“We would like to maintain a community and create a decisionmaker’s club,” she added.
