A taste of Italy with [comfort zone]

[comfort zone] treatments will include an exclusive Walker’s Massage that includes a warm magnesium salt foot soak and a mud wrap. Stretches, foot reflex points and a redwood massage tool will be incorporated to ease aching limbs after a long day of walking.

The spa menu will also feature a host of detoxifying body treatments and several facial rituals from the innovative Italian spa brand.

UK first from Ground Wellbeing

Holte Spa will also be the first UK spa to offer treatments from Ground Wellbeing. Developed by spa industry veteran Peigin Crowley, the brand offers treatments rooted in nature, with handmade products formulated with essential oils and botanicals.

Ground Wellbeing’s offer will include the Comforting Ritual, which is designed to ease the symptoms of pregnancy and includes gentle, rhythmic massage to soothe the shoulders, back and lower legs.

“Ground Wellbeing is beyond proud to launch its first British partnership with The Swan... Truly sustainable wellness now has a warm home in the Lake District.”

Meanwhile, the Balancing Ritual, aimed at those going through menopause and perimenopause, uses cold stone massage therapy, Gua Sha, reflexology, breathwork and lymphatic drainage to alleviate aches and pains, and redistribute body heat.

British partnership debut

Speaking to European Spa, Crowley, said: “Ground Wellbeing is beyond proud to launch its first British partnership with The Swan.

“The spa has been a labour of love under the clever stewardship of Kirsty MacCormick, having evolved into a truly beautiful offering where time in nature is the healer and therapeutic massage rituals offer more than relaxation.”

“Ground’s hands-on therapy delivers purposeful treatments to assist with menopause symptoms; grounding rituals to help manage burnout; and an abdominal cleanse massage to assist with anxiety in the gut. Truly sustainable wellness now has a warm home in the Lake District,” she added.

OTO CBD in The Lakes

Additionally, the spa will be the first in the Lake District to offer OTO’s Ritual Facial Experience, a CBD-infused treatment blending unique, lifting facial massage techniques, using handcrafted bamboo tools, with warm basalt and cool marble stones. The ritual also uses all three of the brand’s massage CBD oils: Amplify to re-energise; Focus to rejuvenate; and Balance to reset.

“We’re delighted to announce our partnership with the Holte Spa at The Swan. They have developed a wonderful wellness-centred spa which fits so perfectly with the foundations of the OTO brand, allowing everyone to discover the power of CBD and to find their space,” OTO’s head of spa, Helen Cain told European Spa.

“The OTO treatments”, continued Cain, “all developed around the use of CBD, are fully immersive experiences, using soundscapes, enabling you to be fully present for the treatment. These include massage experiences and our lifting and firming facial, which has just launched.

“Holte Spa lends itself to future opportunities with retreats outside, enjoying the wonderful landscapes that only the Lakes can offer. We look forward to seeing the partnership grow.”

A ‘multi-sensory wellness experience’

The £7 million spa, developed by spa consultant Kirsty MacCormick, has been described as a ‘multi-sensory wellness experience’ and aims to reconnect guests to nature. Its opening coincides with the launch of 30 new bedrooms and suites at the hotel, designed by Fiona Parke of Johnston Parke Interiors, and is inspired by the rolling hills, lakes and woodland that surround the hotel.
