Leading spa and wellness event SpaFest has announced the launch of SpaFest Gives Back, a charitable initiative aimed at people living with cancer along with their loved ones.

Providing a ‘nurturing, supportive wellness day’ for 80 people, the inaugural event will take place on June 14 at Carden Park Hotel & Spa in Cheshire. It will feature a line-up of inspirational speakers including Executive Fitness Foundation founder Iain Bell, who will open the event with a session on integrative empowerment.

Other speakers include Graham Tinsley MBE, who will lead a healthy cooking demonstration and Strut Camp and Trained Brain founder Jamie Edwards, who will offer informal coaching sessions.

Guests will also be gifted a goody bag and will be able to try therapies from brands such as Made for Life Organics, Gharieni, Murad and Camellia’s Tea House.

In the afternoon, guests can choose from a series of one-hour workshops led by specialists such as Mark Smith of Kalm Horizons, Laura Broady of Aromatherapy for Life and Sarah Blumenau from Find Your Voice.

Attendees will also have access to a deep meditative sleep area, where they can experience 20-minute taster sessions of the new Circadian Rhythm Reset Ritual from Made for Life Organics in partnership with Gharieni.  Twenty-minute Touch Therapy taster sessions provided by Carden Park and Made for Life Touch Therapy specialists will also be on offer.

The event culminates in The Giving Back to Life SpaFest Awards. Recognising positivity and optimism, the awards will present prizes for Compassion, Innovation, Courage, Leadership and Inspiration with spa prizes donated by both Carden Park and Made for Life Organics.

Guests will also be able to upgrade their day to include an Evening Twilight Spa session, including spa access, a sharing platter and glass of bubbly.

“The spa and wellness industry is about helping people access a deep sense of health and feeling well. We are committed to inclusivity, including those living with cancer,” said SpaFest founder Amanda Winwood.

“Currently, 90% of spas and salons turn people living with or undergoing cancer treatment away. SpaFest Gives Back is about using funds raised at the annual SpaFest event to simply open those spa doors to all.

“I’d like to thank the whole team at Carden Park and everyone who sponsors, supports and attends SpaFest – you helped make this happen,” she added.

SpaFest Gives back is the result of a partnership between SpaFest and Carden Park, and is supported by the British Beauty Council, the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care and the UK Spa Association.

With a focus on people, planet and sustainable economics, SpaFest was founded in 2017 by Made for Life Organics founder and managing director Amanda Winwood in partnership with European Spa founding editor Sarah Camilleri.
