bbspa-Group launches bbspa_UK in partnership with Kirsty MacCormick

A renowned name in the spa and wellness industry, bbspa_group has launched a UK operation.

Run by co-founder and CEO Kirsty MacCormick, bbspa_UK will offer a full turnkey spa consultancy service. This will include market research and feasibility, technical design and specifications though to full and assisted spa management.

bbspa_group, initiated in Italy more than 30 years ago, offers spa management and development services and is the brainchild of spa industry experts Gabriella Francia and Régis Boudon-Doris.

In 2021, bbspa_France opened in partnership with Ghislain Waeyaert.

“We’re unique in our offer of 360-degree turnkey solutions, all from within the company,” said MacCormick. “We can deliver a full spa plan, with technical specifications and ensure the guest journey is 100% right from the beginning.

“Together we bring more than 30 years of experience in providing spa and consulting services to the hospitality and resort industry.”

Technical advice and turnkey solutions

The collaboration aims to provide expertise in handling all the essential steps in the development of a successful spa project.

bbspa_Group has a portfolio of more than 43 projects worldwide, spanning over 65,000sqm of spas.

“This association between France, the United Kingdom and Italy will allow us to extend our reach to different regions,” added Waeyaert.

“As we’ve known each other for a long time it will guarantee continuity and study service. We are now a group offering 360-degree services from studies to management all around the world.”

The Scottish Spa Collective

Kirsty MacCormick has also co-founded the new Scottish Spa Collective alongside fellow Scottish spa leaders. The Collective has a shared vision to create apprenticeships, scholarships and mentorships.

It will organise networking events bringing together spa managers, directors and other industry professionals looking to connect or be connected, with an eventual aim of moving into mentorships and scholarships.

MacCormick is joined by Ishga’s Leon Trayling, Jacqueline Ross from JR consultancy, IHG Hotels’ Finlay Anderson and Lesley Blair from BABTAC. The founding board is completed by Cheryl Anderson from Barr + Wray, and Grace Taylor from Incorporate Massage.

Last year, the Scottish Spa Collective collaborated with HIT Scotland to launch the first ever dedicated Spa Scholarship.
