Luxury hospitality brand Aman has launched a new skincare range – Essential Skin.

The collection comprises five products, developed in Japan, which create a functional and effective skincare routine designed to support the skin’s natural barrier, encourage deep hydration and protect from daily environmental stressors.

Aman Essential Skin blends herbs that have long been valued in Japan for their powerful effects, as well as skin actives including Vitamin C, Vitamin E, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.

Two key ingredients

Each of the products contains ancient purple rice bran extract and indigo.

Ancient purple rice bran extract is known for its antioxidant properties, as well as for supporting collagen production.

Indigo extract, from the indigo plant, has been used as a medicinal herb since the 5th Century and as indigo dye, known as Aizome.

The properties of the indigo herb are known to have been loved by the Samurais, who would wear Aizome clothing for its antibacterial effect on wounds – it is said to encourage faster healing and also has proven anti-oxidant potential.

Kristina Romanova - CEO Aman Essentials

"The strategic ambition for Aman Essentials is to create considered, timeless products which reflect the Aman way of living. Essential Skin marks the next phase in this journey – a targeted range of functional skincare, focused on celebrating and preserving natural beauty."

The Aman Essential Skin range includes a Clarifying Milk cleanser, a Skin Activating toner, a Rejuvenating Face serum and a Radiance Face Cream containing camellia oil, which has been used in Japanese beauty for more than 1,000 years. An Illuminating eye cream completes the range.

Aman Essential Skin has been developed in partnership with Japanese skincare manufacturer KOSÉ.

“I have been fortunate to travel extensively, much like our clients, and I know the importance of having a routine which can reduce the impact of environmental stressors and keep the skin calm and nourished,” said Kristina Romanova, CEO of Aman Essentials.
