Aman New York opens as Aman Group announces US$900 million investment

Aman New York has now opened in Manhattan to offer wellness to travellers looking for escape. The new hotel encompasses the group’s first branded residences and the Aman Club, providing it’s guests with an enticing ‘invitation to switch off from the outside world’ and enjoy Aman’s ultra luxury delivery of wellness hospitality.

The highly-anticipated opening of Aman New York coincides with an announcement that Aman Group has secured US$900 million investment (£745 million, €886 million) from two strategic partners; Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Cain International. This will value the company at over $3 billion and accelerate its global expansion of ultra-luxury hotels and residences.

This significant new investment will fast-track the Aman Group’s ambitious global expansion of it’s existing portfolio of 34 hotels across 20 countries. As the Aman Group celebrates the opening of Aman New York, it has nine further hotels and residences projects currently under construction and a committed pipeline of additional future destinations including USA, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, as well as European destinations, to be announced.

Aman New York offers city escape

Aman New York is housed inside the historic Crown Building, a 26-storey Manhattan icon built in 1921 by architects Warren & Wetmore, with significant restoration works spearheaded by long-time Aman collaborator Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects.

Created as an urban sanctuary, the destination offers 83 suites, each with its own fireplace and Japanese-inspired decor, as well as several social spaces and the extensive 2,300sqm Aman Spa.

Described as the ‘most comprehensive realisation of Aman’s wellness philosophy in the western hemisphere’, the Aman Spa is set over three floors and anchored by a tranquil 20m indoor pool. It offers 10 treatment rooms.

For guests looking for dedicated wellness experiences two spacious Spa Houses are available for exclusive use comprising double treatment rooms, Banya and Hammam rooms, private outdoor terraces complete with cold plunge pools, daybeds and fireplaces. This is an exclusive experience for New York and is designed to bring the feel of Aman’s remotest wellness retreats to the city.

Additionally, the property offers 22 branded residences. Located on the upper floors of the Crown Building, each residence is fully serviced by Aman and ‘infused with the Aman way of living’.
