Plans revealed for Six Senses Residences and Spa Comporta

Vic Properties has announced it will open Six Senses Residences Comporta, a collection of 58 private residences with a Six Senses Spa, in Q4 2028.

Located on Portugal’s protected Alentejo coast, within the 400-hectare Pinheirinho Estate, the resort will open directly onto 65km of Atlantic coastline, forming Europe’s longest sandy beach.

The 2,000sqm Six Senses Spa will be housed within three buildings, hidden within a walled garden.

Wet and dry wellness experiences will be arranged across the three low-lying buildings, connected by glazed walkways that echo the surrounding dunes.

Six Senses Spa Comporta

Designed with longevity in mind, the Six Senses Spa will feature thermal areas, hydrotherapy pools, a biohacking suite, a flotation room and eight treatment rooms.

There will be a Turkish hammam, flotation pod, Watsu with chromotherapy, a cold plunge and hyperbaric oxygen chambers.

In addition, plans include an indoor pool, outdoor treatment trailer, fitness studios and an open-air yoga deck

A community vegetable garden, feeding both restaurant and spa menus, will double as a relaxation space for guests and residents.

Additional facilities will include a lakeside pontoon, outdoor cinema, a sound dome and the Six Senses Earth Lab and Alchemy Bar.

The Path of Life

Owners and guests will move through the estate along the Path of Life, a sculptural landscape element designed by Six Senses’ sacred geometry consultant, Alberto Amura.

Designed to be the resort’s ‘quiet spine’ and connective thread, the partially covered walkway will run the length of the resort. It will link the residences, hotel and surrounding pine forest, leading finally to the spa.

The structure will have a sculptural pergola form to provide shade and shelter. It is meant to be walked frequently, at different times daily, to allow guests to appreciate how the quality of light changes from morning to evening.

As well as residences, Six Senses Comporta will have a 70-room hotel and resort. The three residential collections are designed by internationally renowned architect, Michaelis Boyd, known for designing Soho Farmhouse and Battersea Power Station.

The resort and solar-powered residences will draw on sustainable design, local craft and agricultural heritage.
