Soho Farmhouse’s newest wellness experience, the Lazy Lake, is a recently extended outdoor spa space that’s home to a secluded, therapy-inspired circuit.

Nestled into the grounds at Soho House’s Oxfordshire outpost, the Lazy Lake is an upgrade from what was formerly known as Steam Island.

The semi-wilderness setting features an ice room, steam room, three infrared sauna cabins and four onsen-style baths, that are each sunken into the lake itself and all supplied by DaleSauna.

Seasonal seated massages are offered on the expansive decking with scenic woodland views.

The pre-bookable two-hour Lazy Lake experience is based on the premise of a ‘contrast therapy’ circuit and offers hot/cold immersion therapy, thought to have a hormetic effect on the body, with benefits including improved circulation, reduced inflammation and elevated mood.

Each private stone-paved, circular bath – complete with protective canopy and its own cold-water shower station – can be enjoyed with a clay mask and choice of one natural healing soak including Epsom spa salts, magnesium salt flakes, Himalayan spa salts or a seaweed soak.

A unique outdoor spa space

DaleSauna worked alongside in-house architects and the design team at Soho House to create the space, which includes freestanding circular sauna cabins that combine infrared and traditional rock tower heaters, sourced from Germany.

"The new outdoor thermal spa area is a real treat. Guests can benefit from a luxury rural and tranquil outdoor space, hot tubs and outdoor infra-red combination saunas.”

The cabins have Scandinavian redwood cladding and are finished with a green living roof and exterior showers.

Dean Edwards, southern sales manager for DaleSauna, said: “DaleSauna are delighted to have worked with Soho House for several projects over the years. The Lazy Lake facilities are of the highest standard and truly unique.”

Established in 2015, Soho Farmhouse spans 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside.

Built on the site of a derelict farm, it is home to the Soho Health Club, Cowshed Spa and the Boathouse pool.
