Gisburne Park to invest £30 million in members’ club, hotel and wellness hub

Gisburne Park has announced a £30 million investment project that will transform the property into a luxury members’ club, boutique hotel and holistic wellness retreat.

The project is scheduled to open in 2028.

Alison Brooks Architects has been commissioned to spearhead the project that will restore and revitalise the grade I-listed Georgian mansion at the heart of the estate. It will introduce a contemporary hotel, dining and gallery spaces.

She is working closely with owners, Guy and Amber Hindley, to realise their vision for the project.

Set in 1,000 acres of Ribble Valley countryside, Gisburne Park is a beautiful estate located in north-west England.

Contemporary wellness

Brooks has joined forces with renowned landscape architect Todd Longstaffe-Gowan to enhance Gisburne’s 68-hectare park and woodland setting.

The former hunting estate will take a new direction as a destination, grounded in wellness, art and landscape.

A wide-ranging California-inspired health spa, fitness and lifestyle provision will be complemented by an on-site art gallery and a calendar of community cultural events. There will also be opportunities for therapeutic immersions in nature, courtesy of the 70-acre wildlife sanctuary on site.

Wellness at the heart of the community

The project is inspired by the American country-club model and UK country-house-hotel properties like Babington House and Cowley Manor. The Hindleys envisage Gisburne Park as the heart of a local members’ community, where people can visit, as individuals, couples or families. They can relax, play sport, experience wellbeing treatments and therapies, socialise, or simply enjoy being in nature.

Responding to the increasing emphasis on wellness, longevity and restoration in luxury hospitality, the Hindleys are planning what has been described as a world-class destination. The offering will be defined by privacy, exceptional design, historic character and a genuine sense of place – with cutting-edge wellness at its core.
