Omorovicza Institute opens in London’s Mayfair

Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza has opened its first London spa, the Omorovicza Institute in Mayfair, London.

Designed to ‘transport’ guests to Budapest, the cocooning new space offers Omorovicza’s coveted facial therapies in two subterranean treatment rooms.

The 148sqm spa, created in collaboration with designers Tina Vaia and Ed Milton of EJM Studio, also includes a courtyard and retail boutique.

Inspired by Omorovicza’s thermal bathing history

The Institute, which opened on November 6, aims to deliver the healing benefits of the mineral-charged waters of Budapest.

Its interior design draws inspiration from the brand’s institute in Budapest, plus the Rácz Fürdő, the Omorovicza family’s thermal bath dating back to the 1800s.

Materials have been sourced to reflect the Rácz Fürdő, including terracotta inspired by the oldest Turkish bath, handmade tiles from Spain and a selection of marble from Carrara.

Skin Therapy Sessions

Promising an immersive experience, the menu offering combines centuries-old wellness traditions with skincare science, targeted treatments and personalised product prescriptions.

The institute has a menu of six Skin Therapy Sessions, each based around unique products and traditional Hungarian massage.

Omorovicza products are powered by the brand’s patented Healing Concentrate, a potent distillation of Budapest’s thermal waters via biofermentation and encapsulation.

Clients leave with a Skin Therapy Prescription, to build a routine at home that heals and awakens the skin.

Uniquely Hungarian design features

A layered motif runs throughout the space, representing the stratification of the earth, a nod to Omorovicza’s unique use of mineral-rich mud and therapeutic spring waters.

“We wanted the space to reflect Omorovicza’s provenance and products and reference some of the historical and architecturally significant elements of the Rácz,” explains Ed Milton of EJM Studios and Tina Vaia from Tina Vaia Studio.

“The Omorovicza product collection is abundant in mineral-rich ingredients, which informed the type of materials we used – copper, travertine, clay, plaster and terracotta.”

The menu offering includes the 80-minute Moor Mud Skin Therapy session, which uses postbiotic Moor Mud sourced from Hungary’s Lake Héviz, and Omorovicza Moor Mud, rich in vital minerals and fulvic and humic acids.

Other treatments include the 70-minute Soothing Skin Therapy session, a restorative treatment to tackle dryness and sensitivity, and the Illuminating Skin Therapy session, a prescription for dull or lacklustre skin.

Omorovicza has partnered with HydraFacial to offer the HydraFacial Skin Therapy session, which combines Omorovicza’s Healing Concentrate with HydraFacial’s Advanced Skin Renewal.
