KLAFS acquires majority stake in Dröm UK

The Dröm UK team will become part of the KLAFS Group, which has been supplying saunas, pools and spa facilities since 1928

Market leading sauna, pool and spa sector supplier KLAFS has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Dröm UK.

Creating thermal wellbeing solutions in the UK since 2002, Dröm UK was formed by Barry Smith and Kicki Carlsson.

Originally called Dream Leisure, Dröm UK launched after Carlsson and Smith noticed a lack of thermal bathing facilities outside of traditional wellness spaces, such as spas and gyms, in the UK.

A specialist in the design and installation of luxury, bespoke thermal rooms, Dröm now offers a large portfolio of ultra-bespoke saunas, steam baths and spas for the luxury market and wellness sectors.

Further internationalisation of the KLAFS Group

With the acquisition of Dröm, KLAFS gains another high-profile company to further strengthen both its UK and international market position.

The Dröm UK team and its managing director, Barry Smith, will become part of the KLAFS Group and operate alongside Guncast Pools & Wellness, which has been part of KLAFS since 2021.

Innovative thermal installations

KLAFS has been creating spaces for relaxation since 1928. After being acquired by independent Dutch investment company Egeria, in 2021, the group’s managing director of 30 years Stefan Schöllhammer stepped down and was replaced by CEO Phillip Rock.

The company is known for industry innovations including the space-saving KLAFS S1 sauna, which transforms from the size of a wall cabinet to a fully functional sauna within 20 seconds at the push of a button.
