Wildsmith Skin takes up skincare residence at Liberty, London

Located on the first-floor atrium of the iconic London department store Liberty, the Wildsmith House offers a unique opportunity to experience Wildsmith Skin’s Radical Botany facial.

An immersive experience, Wildsmith Skin has transported elements of the woodland from the Heckfield Place estate in Hampshire, where the brand was born.

A curated, 30-minute version of the Radical Botany facial is available, which incorporates the transformative effects of the Heckfield Place original that has been clinically proven to increase skin moisture levels by 194% after 24 hours.

The treatment included guided breathwork, a cleanse and exfoliation, followed by myofascial release.

The treatment is accompanied by a soothing soundtrack of natural soundscape, recorded over three consecutive nights on the Heckfield estate, streamed via air pods.

“We are on track to deliver over 350 facial experiences,” Wildsmith Skin’s general manager, Katherine Pye, exclusively told European Spa. “It has been incredible to welcome mostly new customers and now advocates to our Wildsmith brand.

“The aim of the Wildsmith House was a response to the feedback we received from the Liberty buying team when they visited the Bothy by Wildsmith. They asked us to capture the feeling of being at Heckfield Place, so that is what we set out to do.”

“We’ve created a living, breathing micro-forest, complete with native woodland under planting. The elegant treatment room reflects the interiors and restorative ecosystem of The Bothy,” said Pye.

“We are obsessed with detail so of course it had to be the sons and daughters of the actual trees at Heckfield Place that we used to create the micro forest.”

New Wildsmith retail space

The tree seedlings are the direct offspring of the original specimens planted by botanist William Walker Wildsmith in the 1860s. These include Japanese Cedar and Lawson Cypress grown from seed by Heckfield’s resident arborists.

Wildsmith Skin has secured a permanent space in the iconic Liberty Beauty Hall, where its full range is available at a brand-new retail space. It will offer a 60-minute facial twice a month in Liberty’s treatment rooms.

Wildsmith launches at 1Rebel

Last month, Wildsmith introduced its skincare range to 1Rebel locations across the capital. Wildsmith is available in 1Rebel changing rooms and shower facilities.

This builds on the brand’s partnership with the Dorchester Collection globally, offering private label amenities for all rooms.

“We are launching three new performance body cleansers with clinically proven actives to exfoliate, hydrate and brighten this summer,” said Pye.

“They include chamomile hydrolat from chamomile harvested by the Wildsmith team at Heckfield Place last summer.”
