The UK Spa Association (UKSA) has today launched a nationwide survey to gather insight from operators on the current provision of cancer-adapted treatments and services.

The UKSA Cancer Care Survey 2026 aims to capture the views, experiences and operational realities of spas, salons, hotels and treatment providers across the sector.

The survey is backed by the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC) and Look Good, Feel Better UK.

Findings will help build a clearer picture of current practice, identify barriers to delivery, and inform future training and support for spa businesses seeking to inclusive treatments for clients living with cancer.

“This survey is an important opportunity for the spa industry to share honest insight into current practices, challenges and future ambitions. By speaking out, operators can help shape a safer, more inclusive and professionally supported environment for people living with cancer.”

Creating a strong evidence base

With one in two people in the UK expected to develop cancer in their lifetime, the need for cancer-safe spa therapies and treatments has never been more critical.

The survey explores key areas including:

  • Current treatment provision and guest demand
  • Therapist training and confidence levels
  • Operational adaptations across the guest journey
  • Leadership and organisational support
  • Barriers to implementation and investment needs
  • Future expectations for industry standards.

“We’re urging operators and therapists in spas and salons to complete the survey and share it with colleagues to gain maximum participation,” says UKSA general manager, Bobby Griffiths.

“Every response will contribute to a stronger evidence base. Collated data can then be used for improving care pathways, professional development and service accessibility, and to help shape the future of cancer-adapted wellness care.”

The survey will run until midnight on Sunday, April 26 with a full report published in May.
