Treatwell, a leading beauty and wellness service booking platform, has completed a major merger with Italian salon management software company Uala.

The aggregation – achieved through the consolidation of Uala’s entities in France, Italy and Spain – means the two companies have become a single entity under the Treatwell name, and it marks the conclusion of a more than two-year-long process that began in July 2020.

Described as ‘the combination of two respective areas of excellence’, the partnership positions Treatwell as the point of reference for both beauty and wellness bookings and digitised salon management.

“We were looking forward to sharing this news. Treatwell has been working for years to ensure the best experience for users and salons,” said Treatwell CEO Giampiero Marinó.

“For the latter, the union with Uala can only be an added value: it’s the leading management software for beauty salons in southern Europe, capable of helping managers to better organise their business.”

Ambitious development

Following the merger, the company has announced an ambitious plan to invest up to £34 million (€39 million) in its international workforce to include an additional 600 employees by the end of 2023. In particular, talent will be sought for the tech, product and commercial divisions in the British, Italian, Spanish, French and German markets.

The announcement follows a year in which Treatwell has strengthened its position across Europe by incorporating internationally competitive SaaS, including Wavy in France and Salonized in the Netherlands.

New collaborations

The experience gained from these integrations has prompted Treatwell to pursue collaborations with other wellness and beauty management software companies, to ensure its spa and salon partners have the best visibility on Europe’s largest marketplaces.

“In Europe, Treatwell is already recognised by users as the go-to site and app when it comes to booking beauty treatments. Today, with the opening to integrate with other management softwares, we’re making this service available to thousands of salons interested in taking advantage of this opportunity,” Marinó added.
