A new, eco-friendly nail bar has launched within Fletcher’s Cottage Spa on the Archerfield Estate in East Lothian.

Billed as Scotland’s next generation nail brand, the Nail Yard adds a new dynamic to Fletcher’s Cottage Spa, recently voted The Sunday Times’ best spa in Scotland.

The Nail Yard, which opens on April 14, will offer luxurious hand and feet treatments that enhance wellbeing while protecting the environment.

Professional, yet affordable

Designed by interior designer Siân Parry Jones, the nail bar features organic elements, including oak wood flooring and woodland sanctuary wallpaper for an ‘outside in’ ambiance.

A restored oak nail bar tabletop sits at the centre of the salon to create a feeling of connectedness for customers.

Kirsty MacCormick, founder of the Nail Yard and European Spa columnist, said: “Following a great deal of research, I discovered an opportunity within the nail market to develop a beauty service brand that’s highly professional but value for money.

“We are delighted to be entering this partnership and bringing our award-winning salon to East Lothian, dedicated to the health and beauty of hands and feet.”

“The reputation of the Archerfield Estate and Fletchers Cottage spa is second to none; we couldn’t think of a better place to open our first location outside Edinburgh."

Planet-kind beauty

The Nail Yard at Archerfield offers a bespoke menu of treatments, incorporating natural ingredients that enhance nail beauty and health. Each treatment minimises the use of chemicals and toxins.

The menu includes advanced manicures and pedicures from Margaret Dabbs London, medi manicures and pedicures from Elim as well as gel polishes from science-backed brand Bio Sculpture.

Wellness and nailcare combined

Signature treatments include the Margaret Dabbs Supreme Manicure with Treatment Gloves and the Elim Advanced Medi Foot Treatment, a four-phase pedicure.

“The Nail Yard will bring the two very distinct worlds of spa wellness and nail care together, giving us the opportunity to offer our clients their complete self-care experience in one serene environment,” said Melanie McKenzie, Archerfield treatments and therapy manager.

The Nail Yard Edinburgh opened in April 2015 with a view to delivering services differently – providing clients with treatments that are kind to nails and skin, as well as being kind to the environment.

The business has further expansion plans in 2023 and beyond across the UK.
