Ocean Wellness: Explora Journeys unveils on-board wellness offering

Luxury cruise line Explora Journeys has released details of Ocean Wellness, the spa and wellness offering aboard its upcoming cruise ship Explora I. 

Aiming to immerse guests in tranquillity, far removed from urban noise and ‘always-on’ digital culture, Ocean Wellness is designed to produce a deep sense of physical and spiritual renewal enhanced by the ‘revitalising influence of the sea’. 

The offering includes 1,000sqm of wellness space, including a spa, indoor and outdoor wellness area and contemporary fitness facilities.

Ocean Wellness: a healing haven

Billed as a place to soothe and heal, Ocean Wellness – The Spa features 11 treatment rooms, including two private spa suites with their own relaxation areas, a double suite and seven single treatments rooms, as well as a separate room dedicated to Medi-Luxe treatments from Dr Levy, Switzerland and an outdoor relaxation space. 

Facilities include a thermal wellness area offering a sensorial therapeutic circuit with a hydrotherapy pool, steam room, Finnish sauna, salt cave, experience shower, ice fall and heated marble loungers. 

A tranquil beauty studio offering hair and barber services, and a nail salon offering bespoke hand and foot treatments complete the line-up.

Curated experiences

The spa’s treatment menu features a range of curated and personalised experiences from brands such as Dr Levy, Switzerland, Aromatherapy Associates and The Tides Wellness. 

According to Explora Journeys, the brand partners have been meticulously chosen for their understanding of the ‘ocean state of mind’, as well as their sustainable, results-driven products using active ingredients and high concentrations of botanical and marine extracts.

Ocean fitness 

The ship also boasts extensive fitness facilities, with 227sqm of indoor fitness space including a centre complete with Technogym equipment. Its outdoor facilities include a sports court for half-court basketball, a running track and touch tennis.

The fitness offering also includes an initial physical assessment, as well as several programmes including functional and strength training, cardio, Pilates, bespoke training sessions, group classes and Technogym’s personalised fitness programmes. 

All guests have the option of training in their suites with a virtual coach, while QR coves link to Technogym’s digital library of guided workouts. 

Ocean wellbeing 

Explora Journey’s Ocean Wellness offering is completed by a series of retreat programmes and tailor-made consultations targeting issues such as sleep, immunity and nutrition. 

The programmes are designed to make staying well on holiday easy and enjoyable and help guests to achieve a state of inner and outer calm. 

The mindful nutrition programme has been created in collaboration with the Explora Journey’s culinary team, the mindful nutrition programme demonstrates how best to nourish body and mind to help maintain their wellbeing throughout and beyond their cruise. 

Several yoga programmes to improve energy flow, replenish stamina, aid sleep, boost relaxation and immunity are also available.
