Magdy Abdelaty appointed as the director of spa and wellness at The Peninsula London

Magdy Abdelaty has been named as the director of spa and wellness at The Peninsula London.

Overseeing the concept development and all aspects of the operations of the hotel’s Spa and Wellness Centre, the industry veteran brings over 24 years of experience to the role.

He is responsible for the annual operating budget and marketing plan to ensure exceptional performance at every level.

Delivering outstanding service and ensuring that client satisfaction is met throughout the guest journey at The Peninsula London is key, including managing guest feedback.

Abdelaty will manage recruitment, development, motivation, supervision and coaching of department employees, aiming to maintain the mission, vision, values and core principles of The Peninsula.

He will oversee ongoing staff training, onboarding for new therapists and is self-confessedly keen to stay at the forefront of wellness trends and innovations.

Industry veteran

Abdelaty has worked in the spa, fitness and wellness industry for over 24 years and has vast experience in all aspects of this field.

He has worked across a diverse range of cultures and business environments in London, Turkey, the Maldives and Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.

Abdelaty has worked with Fairmont, Four Seasons and The Peninsula group.

A registered therapist, he has qualifications in leadership and management and a bachelor’s degree B.Sc (phys) in physical education and physiotherapy

As director of spa and wellness, he has led technical and operational projects, and managed health and safety structure.

He has also implemented marketing activities and designed exclusive and personalised wellness and wellbeing programmes in luxurious spa and fitness facilities.

Abdelaty says he has a passion for economic, social and environmental sustainability awareness at the core of spa and wellness development.
