Medical Wellness Congress returns to Austria in 2023

The Medical Wellness Congress returns to Austria this year offering a programme of high-level presentations addressing the topic of integrative wellness.

The annual event, hosted at St. Martin’s Spa & Lodge near Vienna, will take place on April 24 and 25 and feature international speakers from the medical, wellbeing and health fields.

Leaders from international hospitality and medi-wellness groups including Lanserhof, Six Senses, Accor and Ensana Health Spa Resorts will be on stage across the two-day event. Each speaker will focus on different aspects of improving the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of their clients.

Combining a series of presentations, thought-provoking workshops, networking opportunities and a gala dinner, the event is set to be a highlight of the international conference circuit this year.

Speaker programme at Medical Wellness Congress

The speaker programme includes Nils Behrens, managing director and chief marketing officer at Lanserhof Group, who will discuss the award-winning Lanserhof Concept, and offer an insight into the group’s future plans.

Exploring people, planet, profit and wellness real estate, Susanne Kraus-Winkler, state secretary for tourism in Austria; Beata Aleksandrowicz, founder of Beata: Love, Life, Beauty; and Simon Lee Saunders, vice-president of strategic health and wellness at RLA Global will deep dive into the wellness industry.

Exploring health tourism, integrative wellbeing and the importance of wellness post-pandemic, Patrick Huey, chairman of the board for the International Spa Association; Franz Linser, founder and managing director of Linser Hospitality; Dr. Boris Banovsky, group medical director for the Ensana Health Spa Resorts Group; and Dr. Kateřina Smíšková, lead at the Spiral Spinal Stabilisation Method Centre, will explore the future of health and wellbeing.

Workshops and panel discussions

The event will also host workshops presented by Laszlo Puczko, co-founder and CEO, Health Tourism Worldwide, and Tammy Pahel, chief wellness officer at Alchemy Wellness Resorts.

International wellness and hospitality specialist Andrew Gibson will host a panel discussion featuring Emlyn Brown, global vice-president of well-being at Accor Group; Anna Bjurstam, senior strategic advisor at Six Senses; and Keith Pollard, editor in chief at International Medical Travel Journal, will discuss the concept of medi-wellness and how to ensure that standards are maintained within organisations.
