Maria Spa at The Hotel Maria opens in Helsinki

The Hotel Maria has opened in Helsinki with the new Maria Spa focused on offering holistic wellbeing.

Part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Legend Collection, The Hotel Maria has put wellness at the heart of it’s offering.

Facilities in the 500sqm Maria Spa include four treatment rooms, a Finnish sauna, a uniquely designed steam room, cold and warm water plunge pools and a hot tub.

A greenery-filled, fully enclosed atrium is home to a Spa Bar. The Spa Shop includes beauty and wellness products for retail. A Finnish polar bear dip ‘avanto’ experience will be on offer in the cold plunge.

Nordic hospitality in the Maria Spa

Treatments include the Luminizer Massage, Arctic Healing with Maria and Nordic Vitality Facial, using products from Biologique Recherche. It is the only spa in Finland to offer Biologique Recherche. Additional product houses are Niki Newd and Julie Lindh.

The Maria Spa’s wellness options will expand further in June 2024 with the opening of The Wellness Club fitness space.

Uniforms, towels and spa linens are supplied by Finnish brand Medanta. Treatment beds are by Lemi and fitness equipment by Fysioline, Pent Fitness and Bala. Spa software is from Book4Time.

The Hotel Maria is a collection of four a prominent buildings dating back to 1885. With 117 rooms including 38 suites, it is the first hotel in the Nordics to offer a Wellness Concierge.

Personalised Wellness Concierge programmes including jet lag treatments and nutrition programmes, a weekly Run Club and in-suite spa treatments.

The hotel has dedicated double-storey spa suites with private saunas or steam rooms and large soaking tubs.

Interiors are by head designer Jana Sasko and Finnish interior design firm Puropla.
