Biologique Recherche group names Jean-Guillaume Trottier as new CEO

French spa and skincare brand announce that Pierre-Louis Delapalme and Rupert Schmid will hand over the leadership

Leading French spa and skincare brand Biologique Recherche has named Jean-Guillaume Trottier as its new CEO.

Trottier has spent his career working in the beauty industry, holding roles for L’Oreal’s Luxury Division, Estée Lauder Companies and with MAC Cosmetics as vice-president and general manager EMEA and UK.

He led Jo Malone London for more than a decade and, most recently, was global brand president at Jo Malone London and Darphin Paris at ELC.

Trottier has a degree in Civil Architecture (DPLG) and an MBA (International Luxury Brand Management) from ESSEC business school.

Pierre-Louis Delapalme and Rupert Schmid have been leading Biologique Recherche as co-CEOs and owners for more than 15 years. During this time, they have multiplied the company’s revenue by more than 20.

“Trottier boasts a rare combination of strong leadership skills, deep brand understanding, a passion for innovation and extensive international expertise,” says Rupert Schmid.

A clinical approach to skincare

Delapalme and Schmid will remain closely involved as co-owners and Executive Board members, supporting Trottier in his new endeavours.

Trottier joined the company at the beginning of January, and will, after a transition period, take over as CEO at the beginning of May.

Biologique Recherche’s has a strong reputation for effectiveness based on a clinical approach to skincare.
