Biologique Recherche opens US flagship in Los Angeles

New retreat has interior design by French designer Joanne de Lépinay, who previously worked on the Ambassade Biologique Recherche Rive Gauche property in Paris

Luxury French skincare brand Biologique Recherche has opened its first US property in Los Angeles.

Ambassade Los Angeles is an urban retreat described by the brand as “the culmination of Biologique Recherche’s specialised skills, high standards and extensive experience.”

Located on Melrose Place in West Hollywood, Ambassade Los Angeles occupies 5,000sqm across two floors. It features six treatment rooms, including a VIP suite with a private entrance and a hair salon offering scalp and hair treatments.

A diagnostic room completes the line-up, offering several Biologique Recherche innovations, including VisioLab, Skin Instant Lab and My Beauty, as well as a retail space selling the brand’s entire product range.

Three-step methodology

Led by opening spa director Vivian Henein, the spa offers a personalised treatments including the brand’s Remodeling Face and Remodeling Face Chin rituals, based on a three-step approach of assessment, initialisation and treatment.

Each experience begins with an in-depth skin analysis in the diagnostics suite. The Skin Instant Lab tool is used to analyse the skin and identify any areas of concern, a high-resolution photograph is then taken on the VisioLab. Finally, the My Beauty DNA test assesses the skin, based on 14 factors, including ageing, sensitivity, sun exposure and environmental factors.

In the ‘initiatialisation’ phase, the skin is massaged, prepped and cleansed with the Lotion P50, before the final ‘treatment’ stage promises a radiant complexion, through the use of customised products to recondition and improve overall skin quality.

Parisian aesthetic

The interior design was created by French designer Joanne de Lépinay, who previously worked on the Ambassade Biologique Recherche Rive Gauche property in Paris. De Lépinay used the brand’s signature colours of blue, cream and gold to create an elegant Parisian aesthetic and continuity between the properties.

Commenting on the opening, Margot Humbert, general manager of Biologique Recherche USA, said: “We took elements from the original Paris Ambassade to extend the authenticity of the brand and create continuity.

“All the millwork is custom made and the furniture is directly from Europe,” she added.

In addition, the spa treatment rooms are appointed with furnishings from Italian spa equipment manufacturer Lemi, including its Portofino heated treatment beds with memory foam mattresses, as well as the matching therapist stools and trolleys.
