Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra opens with Eastern-inspired spa

Mandarin Oriental has opened its latest spa and hotel – Punta Negra, Mallorca – on the island’s southwest coastline in Calvià.

Rooted in cultural authenticity, the 700sqm Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Punta Negra, Mallorca features nine treatment rooms – two outdoor – in addition to La Calma Suite.

A private treatment area, La Calma has an outdoor deck and bathtub, and two treatment tables by Lemi.

The vision of BG Arquitectura, the spa blends Mediterranean soul with oriental philosophy to create a sense of balance, calm and renewal.

“Our new spa is rooted in Mallorca, inspired by the East and designed for lasting wellbeing,” said director of spa and wellness, Valentina Citterio.

Inside the spa

Facilities at Mandarin Oriental, Punta Negra include a heated hydromassage pool, steam bath and cold plunge, plus immersive showers that blend water, light and aromatherapy.

There is also a vitality pool, two dry saunas – one in each changing room – and a relaxation lounge. Two outdoor swimming pools overlook the bay of Punta Negra.

There is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art Technogym fitness centre offering Hyperice recovery technologies.

Treatment partners are Wildsmith, SublimeOils and Augustinus Bader. Retail offerings include Institut Esthederm and local Mallorcan brands Najuana and Jabón de Mallorca.

The spa offer Déesee PRO red light therapies and Evolt360 body composition scanning.

A unique offering

The Resident Curandero is an exclusive Essence of Mallorca treatment, inspired by the island’s heritage herbs eucalyptus, sage, mint, cedar, thyme and chamomile.

“By weaving together ancient Eastern wisdom, local craftsmanship, nature-led therapies and contemporary wellbeing practices, we offer more than treatments,” said Citterio.

“Guided by our five pillars – social connection, movement, healing, nutrition and technology – we create transformative journeys that continue long after our guests leave the island.”

Uniforms are by the Labo, towels and spa linens are from Vayoil and BC SoftWear. Management software is by Spasoft.

Near an elegant marina in Puerto Portals, Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, is framed by Aleppo pine trees, secluded coves and sweeping Mediterranean views.

The resort has 131 rooms and suites, lush gardens and a curated art pathway that connects galleries and site-specific installations.
