Das Stemp wellness resort, in the Bavarian Forest region of Germany, has opened Stemp OASEE, its new 2,000sqm adults-only spa area.

The overall concept focuses on reconnecting with nature, freedom and slow living. Facilities include a 60m heated natural swimming pool – the Stemp See – and a 15m granite whirlpool.

There is a large lakeside event sauna and, central to the design, a snow room supplied by TechnoAlpin Indoor.

Held at a constant -10C, real snow has been integrated into the spa concept as a natural, gentle way to cool down after the sauna.

“With the OASEE, our goal was to respond directly to our guests’ wishes; above all, for an authentic sauna experience. From the outset, the focus was not on accumulating attractions, but on creating a space that conveys calm despite its generous size.”

An alternative way to cool down

“The spacious sauna, which seats up to 70 guests, our natural pool and the granite whirlpool are each designed to feel open without creating distance,” said Herbert Stemp, founder of Das Stemp Wellness Resort.

“Our goal was for our guests to feel protected and at ease, even within a large space. We wanted to bring something new to the Bavarian Forest – something you don’t encounter everywhere.

“The snow room also serves a very practical purpose. Before the renovation, we lacked a true cooling option. That was something our guests mentioned time and again. The snow room now offers an alternative, gentle way to cool down.”

Additional facilities in the contemporary spa include a fire lounge, outdoor heated lodges around the lake with underfloor heating and infrared lamps.

There is also a garden relaxation room, the SEElentium relaxation room with hanging chairs and the Swing Forest, an outdoor space with more hanging chairs.

Located directly on the lake, the Rotario Islands are gently spinning loungers that float between water and nature.

A family-run wellness resort, Das Stemp is rooted in nature, tranquillity and comfort. Wood, stone, and water define the atmosphere, with flowing transitions between indoor and outdoor areas.

“It was important for OASEE to have its own identity, while still being perfectly integrated into the resort,” said Stemp. “We wanted openness, freedom, modernity and innovation.”
