Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG) has announced the opening of its highly anticipated Spa at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair in London.

The urban wellness facility, in London’s iconic Hanover Square, has been designed as a ‘discreet, sleek and intimate’ sister spa to the flagship Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park spa.

The vision of Tokyo-based design studio Curiosity, the spa’s interiors are said to be ‘a hub of nature and art.’

Water-drop, candle-like lighting has been used to create a soothing setting. Interiors use an earthy palette including wood, stone, green Ming marble and warm bronze.

The 795sqm spa is overseen by assistant director of spa, Michelle Matthews. She leads a small team of therapists, each dedicated to delivering expertise and personalised care.

Facilities include a 25m indoor swimming pool – the longest hotel pool in Mayfair – and three individual vitality pools.

There is also a sauna, experience showers, steam rooms and a relaxation room.

“Our innovative approach combines hands-on treatments with cutting-edge biohacking technology for an unparalleled wellness experience.

“At the Spa at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, every moment is dedicated to enhancing wellbeing, making it a sanctuary where time is truly treasured.”

Brands specialising in science and sustainability

The subterranean spa, open to hotel guests, residents and the local community, offers an innovative array of bespoke wellness treatments.

These include a range from naturally pure and scientifically proven brand Seed to Skin Tuscany and advanced anti-ageing skincare brand Swiss Perfection.

In addition, the spa will offer Clinique La Prairie and Mandarin Oriental Signature, which features expertly blended aromatherapy scents aligned with the five Chinese elements – wood, fire, earth, metal and water.

The spa will sell Talia Collins swimwear, designed from ocean plastics.

Two exclusive experiences have been inspired by the spa’s surroundings. The four-handed Tranquillity of Mayfair massage is joined by a signature Elegance of Mayfair facial.

MOHG’s eastern heritage is reflected with the brand’s signature Oriental Qi ritual.

This works on the energy of the meridians’ using essential oils. NAD+ vitamin-boosting IV infusions are also on offer.

Treatment beds are supplied by Gharieni, spa furniture by Hospitality Designs and software by Spasoft.

Micro biohacking treatments

Traditional therapist-led treatments are enhanced with binaural acoustic and dynamic stimulation.

These time-efficient, 22-minute micro-treatments are designed to synchronise with brain waves and induce a meditative, relaxed state.

The computer-controlled acoustic and vibrational therapy is being offered in four guises – stress release, mindfulness, power nap and awaken.
