Kamalaya Koh Samui in Thailand has launched new integrative treatments at its Longevity House, an area that employs functional medical practices to assist guests through natural life stages.

The award-winning holistic wellness sanctuary, centred around a cave that once served Buddhist monks as a place of meditation and spiritual retreat, harnesses an integral approach to wellness, bringing together ancient eastern healing with western medical research.

Integrative healing

Aligned with this, Kamalaya has introduced a series of new treatments to support integrative healing, including IV vitamin infusions, ozone therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and high sensitivity cancer screening.

The newly created Longevity House consists of two IV therapy rooms, one ozone therapy room, a hyperbaric chamber and a permanent Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez.

“Since Kamalaya’s opening 17 years ago, we have carefully curated and delivered a concept which unites Traditional Chinese and Thai medicine, Ayurveda, naturopathy, nutrition and research-based functional medicine,” said Karina Stewart, founder of Kamalya.

“This has created an intrinsically holistic paradigm of practices that focus above all on optimal health and longevity.”

“These integrative treatments support, enhance and increase the benefits of our offerings. We are working to incorporate these therapies fully into our programmes by April 2023.”

New therapy offerings

Kamalaya offers a comprehensive menu of research-based IV infusions to support acute health conditions and improve performance and longevity.

Ozone therapy, which carries a higher percentage of oxygen to areas in the body that require healing, helps restore balance to combat infectious and degenerative diseases, while boosting immunity.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is performed in a high air-pressure hyperbaric chamber, which delivers extra oxygen to the lungs and microcapillaries to aid the body in fighting bacteria and stimulates stem cells, promote mental performance and wellbeing.

Lastly, through a simple blood test, Kamalaya’s practitioners provide screening that can indicate potential cancer development. Based on the results from the test they can curate wellness programs and treatments that will help to reduce the contributing factors for cancer development.

Wellness for women

Kamalaya has also announced it will be launching three new wellness programmes, one of which is planned for the first quarter of the year and will focus on women’s health.

To offer bespoke functional testing assessments prior to departure, Kamalaya has partnered with London-based vitality clinic Paar. Assessments evaluate skin DNA, food intolerances, mineral balance, toxicity, microbiome and gut health.

The spa employs seven naturopaths and offers functional medicine doctor consultation rooms, seven Traditional Chinese Medicine rooms, two Ayurveda rooms, complete with Shirodara facility, and a 3D full body scanner

Alongside this, facilities include 25 treatment rooms, both indoor and outdoor salas, two steam caverns and three far infrared saunas, four thermal plunge pools and the Shakti fitness centre across three levels.

The spa uses Kamalaya Essential aromatherapy oil blends as well as products from The Organic Pharmacy and Subtle Energies.
