Exclusive interview

European Spa spoke exclusively to Turpin, to find out what she hopes to bring to her new role and where she sees the wellness movement shifting in the coming year:

Tell us about your experience and what skills you bring to your new role:

“I began my career as a spa therapist when I was 18. Now, with more than 20 years of experience, I have seen spa change from a non-profitable hotel amenity to the recognised revenue-generating necessity it is today.

“I believe my extensive 360-degree extensive experience will be my biggest asset. I understand every element of spa, from performing treatments to guest relations and management, multi-site multi-market operations and concept development.”

Where do you see wellness shifting in the next 12 months?

“Awareness of and knowledge surrounding wellness continues to grow. Guests are informed and are looking for more than an hour’s treatment.

“They demand ethical products and brands whose social governance resonates with their own personal values. This guest education can only continue.

“Corinthia’s growth is speeding up, with three new openings in New York, Rome and Brussels. We also have projects planned in the Middle East, with luxury properties opening in Qatar and Riyadh.”

The Corinthia story
