Caroline Mullen becomes director of spa and leisure at Schloss Roxburghe Hotel

Industry veteran plans to position the spa as one of the UK’s finest wellbeing destinations

Caroline Mullen has been appointed director of spa and leisure at Schloss Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course in Scotland.

Mullen has over 20 years of experience in senior roles within the spa, wellness and leisure sectors.

She has worked with global brands including Hilton Hotel Group, Devere Group, David Lloyd Clubs, Manorview Hotel Group.

Her most recent roles were at Perthshire’s Dunkeld House Hotel and Fonab Castle & Woodland Spa in Scotland.

Located an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Newcastle, Schloss Roxburghe is set in 300 acres of land. The property is also home to the 1,100sqm Schloss Spa.

The spa at Schloss Roxburghe

Schloss Spa, designed by Kitzig Design Studios, includes a heated outdoor infinity-edge pool complete with LED lighting and an underwater speaker sound system.

The space also features indoor and outdoor relaxation areas and an additional plunge pool.

The thermal suite and pools were provided by Aquateq. The wellness offering also includes a modern fitness suite featuring equipment supplied by Technogym.

Spa expertise

Mullin’s expertise is focused on driving performance, profitability. She says she plans to create a culture where her team is inspired to create ideas and to lift the organisation to a higher level of performance and consistency.

“We will continue to build a reputation that is held in highest regard and create experiences that are truly unique to Schloss Roxburghe,” says Mullins.

“We will rival the very best the UK has to offer and elevate expectations on what a spa visit should look and feel like.”

Mullin plans to refine and finesse the current offering, building on what customers love, seeking to transform and create new experiences for the future.

“The wellness industry is set to see significant growth with clients having a greater interest not just focusing on fitness and nutrition but on self-care, mental wellbeing and appearance,” she says.

“With this in mind I would like for our clients to experience something deeper, that’s a brand new way to feed their mind, body and soul, a chance to feel truly alive and to feel the best version of themselves.”
