Bringing more than 20 years’ experience in luxury spa, wellness and hospitality, Susan Morrissey has joined Surrenne Belgravia as its wellness director.

Morrissey has worked with some of Europe’s most prestigious hotels and private members’ clubs, including Grace Belgravia and Cloud Twelve.

Beginning her career as a therapist in five-star properties in Ireland, including the Four Seasons Hotel, Ballsbridge and the Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt, Morrissey later owned her own boutique spa business.

A career in spa

Morrissey’s move into management began at Corinthia London, where she was part of the pre-opening spa leadership team.

At Cloud Twelve in Notting Hill, she launched London’s first children’s wellness members’ club from pre-opening to full operation.

Most recently, she was GM of the Lanesborough Club & Spa, where she oversaw strategic growth initiatives and developed bespoke wellness programmes.

“My priority is to fully understand the DNA of Surrenne – its members, clientele, team culture and long-term ambitions. From there, I aim to refine operations, optimise the guest and member journey, and ensure every touchpoint delivers consistency, excellence and emotional connection.”

Wellbeing is a priority, not a perk

Speaking exclusively to European Spa, Morrissey explained development plans for the Surrenne brand.

“Collectively, my experience spans spa and wellness strategy, pre-openings, private members’ clubs, luxury hotel spas and brand partnerships,” she said. “My focus has always been delivering exceptional experiences while driving commercial success.

“I will use this experience to lead, shape and evolve the spa and wellness offering at Surrenne Belgravia.

“For today’s luxury guest and member wellbeing is a priority, not a perk. They expect personalised experiences and curated wellness programming.

“I will identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation so we remain pioneering in our approach in the evolving worlds of wellbeing and hospitality, and where the two meet.”

Performance-focused services

Morrisey added: “I believe modern luxury wellness is no longer about isolated treatments, but integrated, results-driven experiences.

“I plan to evolve the offering by combining traditional spa excellence with holistic health, preventative wellness and performance-focused services.

“My aim is for Surrenne Belgravia to be recognised as a destination for meaningful, transformative wellness, one that sets a benchmark within the industry.”
