Hotel Belle Plage in Cannes, which opened this spring, has revealed its new 1,000sqm spa, Villa Belle Plage.

Located within the historic Villa Rocamare, refurbished by interior architect and designer Raphael Navot,  Villa Belle Plage combines an offering of aesthetic experts, nutritionists and wellness coaches with personalised holistic treatments, Watsu, yoga and personal training.

Holistic meets high-performance technologies

High-tech treatments are on offer from Hydrafacial, Helight Pro and Icoone alongside treatment brands Augustinus Bader, Cellcosmet and Alaena.

Holistic beauty is combined with high-performance technologies in seven cabins (three double) across two floors, headed up by spa manager Florence Temim.

Spa consultant Relax Massage Paris has devised a menu of personalised treatments and massages that target cellular revitalisation, or guests can select from five treatment paths – wellbeing, well ageing, detox, recovery and vitality.

The ‘active break’ approach

“In a constantly changing world, it was important to my teams and myself to create a new generation of tailor-made services around wellbeing, to harmonise body and mind,” said Samy Marciano, chairman of La Clé Group. “This ‘active break’ approach is based on cosmetic, sports and nutritional expertise, drawing inspiration from innovative technologies.

“Villa Belle Plage offers personalised programmes ranging from a break of a few hours to a regenerative cure over several days, adapted to each guest’s needs.”

To reach the entirely restored 1874 villa, guests cross a tropical Mediterranean garden, created by landscape architect Gwenaëlle Grandjean, which recalls the atmosphere of the old gardens of the Riviera of the Belle Époque.

Simulating natural caves

The spa’s sensory space offers a full range of thermal experiences from a salt cave, sauna and hammam to Watsu – the aquatic body work technique originating in Japan where guests are immersed in a private pool and guided through a series of stretches, twists and shiatsu pressure points that relieve mental stress.

The spa designer Raphael Navot has kept original features such as the main circular sauna, built from Himalayan pink salt bricks, and the large, sculpted pool specifically for Watsu.

The fitness room has been equipped with Nohrd sports equipment, uniforms are supplied by Beauty Street and towels by Bergan.

The whole spa is covered with a wall board that forms a real mineral skin, to simulate natural caves.

A ‘functional food’ triptych

Villa Belle Plage is home to a new restaurant Villa, with a holistic menu by chef Martine Fallon, a detox coach and therapist in functional and gastronomic cuisine,

The concept is based on a ‘functional food’ triptych, which takes into account the metabolic needs of the individual and ‘cellular nutritherapy’, which stimulates and regenerates cellular energy.

Part of La Clé hotels, the Hôtel Belle Plage is the third address to join the group, which also has Hôtel Bachaumont and Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers in Paris.
