Ffolkes hotel has announced its £3m thermal Ffolkespa will open on September 5.

The new spa retreat will feature five distinct spa zones in a hot and cold thermal cycle. In total, Ffolkespa will offer 12 thermal experiences.

The Ibiza zone will include four double foot spas, four cabanas with heated loungers and a stainless steel hot tub for up to 14 people. There will be a tub-side cocktail bar topped off with a disco ball and sound system to ensure maximum ‘island vibes’.

The sauna and fire zone will provide three different saunas – salt, herbal and an event sauna. Sauna rituals will be hosted by Ffolkes’ sauna masters in the event sauna. Thermal hardware is provided by Anapos.

A plunge pool, mist shower and ice fountain will provide the cold element of the thermal journey.

“Ffolkes hotel broke the mould when it opened a few years ago, and Ffolkespa is going to do the same. We’re taking a very different approach to your standard spa experience, one we’re sure is going to resonate with spa-goers looking for somewhere completely unique to celebrate quality time together.”

Richard Knights

Director, Norfolk Passport

Richard Knights, alongside Tom Oakley, is a director of Norfolk Passport – the team behind the delivery of Ffolkespa.

While the vision for the project has been shaped by the Ffolkes’ ownership team, Knights and Oakley are the driving force behind the development.

Created by spa consultants Spa Creators – alongside the property’s owners, Iain and Clair Wilson – 12 of Ffolkes’s 16 spa bedrooms have been turned into spa suites, offering direct spa access.

Treatment experiences

There will also be a pre-treatment lounge and post-treatment relaxation room with water beds, and four treatment rooms, with further space for an additional four treatment rooms in the future.

A variety of treatments from TempleSpa will also be on offer including massages, Indian head rituals and facials. Treatment beds are supplied by Gharieni.

The current phase also includes a new sundeck, creating an outdoor relaxation space complete with loungers and elevated views, designed to add extra tranquillity to the thermal journey.

“We are thrilled to bring this exciting new offering to the Norfolk community. This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing top-tier spa experiences for guests, supporting local employment, and servicing a growing demand for wellness experiences.”

Outdoor hot tub garden

In an outside garden spa space, five hydro features will create a hot-tub garden, alongside a heated swimming pool, a snooze pod and double swing loungers.

The new spa will also provide day guest access to holders of a Norfolk Passport, a free-to-join membership programme providing perks across leading Norfolk experiences.

Therapist development

Ten new recruits currently in training to become fully-qualified massage therapists as part of Ffolkes’ dedicated Spa Academy programme.

Those who qualify will secure a Level 3 CPD Accreditation, as well as a guaranteed full or part-time position as part of the spa team at Ffolkespa or its sister spa at The Pigs.
