Waterside Hotel to launch new £3m sea-view spa in 2025

Plans for a new £3m spa at the Waterside Hotel at West Kilbride have been revealed by owners, Scottish hospitality group SimpsInns.

The Si! Spa, which is set to open in spring 2025, will have views over the Firth of Clyde towards the Isle of Arran.

The design company for the project is Glasgow-based interior designers 3 Design Scotland.

Facilities will include six treatment rooms, offering treatments by ishga and ESPA.

There will be a four-person rasul experience and an indoor thermal area with a sauna and steam room, plus three experience showers.

Positioned to overlook the beach, the new spa will have a large outdoor spa garden area.

Outdoor facilities will include a hydrotherapy pool, an outdoor shower, cold drench bucket and a sheltered fire pit and seating area.

Work is set to begin at the Waterside this winter.

“Our new spa is a significant milestone, promoting the Ayrshire coast as one of Scotland’s leading luxury spa and wellness destinations,” said senior manager Jack Simpson.

Once complete, the project will create 25 new jobs within the spa, employing employ 18 therapists plus an additional five new roles in housekeeping.

As well as the new Si! Spa, SimpsInns is investing in 17 additional guest rooms at the Waterside Hotel early next year.

The group’s flagship venue, the Gailes Hotel and Spa, is located in Irvine. A family-run hospitality group, SimpsInns also runs the Potting Shed and the Terrace, both in Irvine.
