The View Hotel in Agadir, Morocco has opened the 1,500sqm Amaya Spa – named after the word for beauty and serenity in Berber.

The hotel, which opened in March 2024, has revealed that its wellness offering includes five hammam treatment rooms, five single massage rooms and one double, all with Lemi treatment beds.

There are relaxation and wellness hubs with REM and Lemi spa furniture; steam rooms; and a large heated indoor swimming pool by Astral Pool. The spa’s centrepiece is its a hammam, crafted by local artisans.

Amaya Spa has calm and serene interiors inspired by traditional Moroccan design.

The ancient ritual of the Moroccan hammam

Treatments take a holistic approach, connecting nature with science. Exclusive spa rituals include the View Oriental Massage, using ancestral techniques and practices to restore and rebalance.

Adhering to traditional values, guests are encouraged to embrace the ancient ritual of the Moroccan hammam.

Traditional hammams were a sacred place that offered refuge, healing and purification. Amaya Spa emulates this experience using hot vapours, exfoliating kessa gloves, black soap and ghassoul (Moroccan clay).

Signature experiences include the Ceremonial Hamman, a traditional ritual that stimulates, cleanses and nourishes body, face and hair. The experience includes a hair bath and double-tonic wrap.

The spa also offers the signature Soffle de Fraicheur treatment, designed to leave guests feeling rejuvenated.

"Amaya Spa takes pride in offering a truly unique experience. Amaya Spa is committed to integrating traditional Moroccan wellness practices, particularly our authentic Hammam rituals, to transport guests to the heart of ancient Morocco. Each treatment is designed to evoke the essence of Moroccan heritage.”
