The Power of Touch reveals winners of 2022 Shine Your Light Awards

Leading health and wellness educator The Power of Touch (tpot) has revealed the winners of its second annual Shine Your Light Awards. 

Hailed as ‘the people’s award for contribution’, the Shine Your Light Awards are designed to honour therapists across the UK and Ireland who go ‘above and beyond’ for their clients and communities.

This year’s awards were judged by a panel of spa industry experts including European Spa contributing editor and founder of mindfulness company Kalm Horizons, Mark Smith, who was joined by tpot founder Michelle Hammond; Sunita Passi, founder of Tri-Dosha; and ‘The Spa Whisperer’ Nigel Franklyn, co-founder of Moss of the Isles. 

The panel was completed by Paula Perkins, CEO of Paula Perkins Spa Consultancy; Helena Field, manager of 42 Acres; and Beata Aleksandrowicz, massage expert and founder of Love Life Beauty. 

“These awards are about recognising and rewarding those that go up and above, shining their light for others, giving back and doing more to connect with and contribute to their communities,” said tpot founder Michelle Hammond.

Winners were announced during a gala ceremony at SAMA Bankside, a private event space on London’s South Bank. 

European Spa’s Mark Smith said: “The Shine Your Light Awards really do serve to highlight excellence among the people who often work in our industry, often behind the scenes, and rarely gain recognition for their work.”

“The heartwarming stories and deep commitment to helping improve people’s health and wellbeing are astonishing. All of the candidates were exceptional.” 

Speaking to European Spa judge Nigel Franklyn said: “The tpot Shine Your Light Awards is a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on people who would not normally bring themselves forward, but deserve to be recognised and celebrated. It’s a privilege to be a part of this award incentive, and to meet so many incredible, passionate industry people.”
