The Power of Touch (TPOT) will host a three-day virtual conference to educate wellness professionals on how to treat clients living with and beyond cancer.

Taking place between October 4-6, the virtual event, called Cancer Care – An Integrative Approach, is the first in a series of CPD-accredited events from TPOT that aims to provide attendees with a deeper understanding of cancer.

"We know our industry professionals have a real desire to do more to better support their clients living with and beyond cancer confidently, comfortably and effectively."

Michelle Hammond

Founder, TPOT

A lineup of 18 international guests experts will lead sessions on the science of cancer, the most common clinical treatments for the disease and complementary evidence-based therapies and adaptations, as well as radical management of the illness, prevention procedures, new innovations and diagnostics.

Speakers include author and palliative medicine and clinical care consultant Dr Kathryn Maddix; researcher, author and multi-award-winning reflexologist, Sally Kay; best-selling author and cancer survivor Jane McLelland; and oncology nurse and integrative cancer care specialist Patricia Peat.

Sessions run from 9am-noon and 2pm-4pm each day, with bonus sessions available from 6pm to 9pm on October 5.

Tickets start from £139 with early bird tickets available at the reduced rate of £119 until September 15.

“Cancer touches everyone at some point in our lives and with TPOT having been born from our initial body of research on the challenges of treating clients with cancer back in 2013, we thought it crucial to open our series of educational events centred on this important topic,” said TPOT founder Michelle Hammond.

“We know our industry professionals have a real desire to do more for the clients that need them the most and a thirst for knowledge that’ll enable them to better support their clients living with and beyond cancer confidently, comfortably and effectively.”

“We’re so excited to offer spa, beauty, health and wellness professionals the chance to deepen their understanding on this subject so we’ve designed these 18 hours of CPD content to be entirely evidence-based and wellness-focused,” she added.

Further conferences covering topics such as gut health, heart health, women’s health and mind and mood are planned for 2022.
