The Massage Company to enter Scottish market with ten new centres

The Massage Company (TMC) is set to enter the Scottish market following a new partnership with Franchise&. 

The venture, which will bring TMC’s unique, membership-based therapies to Scotland, will lead to the opening of ten new massage centres in the country over the next three years, with the expectation of creating approximately 300 jobs. 

“It’s brilliant to have the opportunity to bring subscription massage to Scotland,” said TMC co-founder Charlie Thompson. 

“We know what a positive impact massage can have on people’s physical and mental health, and we’re delighted to be able to reach so much further. Health and wellbeing are incredibly important for everyone and we feel privileged to make massage a part of people’s lifestyles.” 

“Like all treatments, massage is most effective when used regularly, and our subscription model helps our members maintain their routines and feel the benefits every single day,” he added. 

TMC provides two ways for potential franchisees to be involved, either as a hands-on owner-operator or as a hands-off owner-investor and offers the opportunity to “become part of the future of the high street.” 

The company was founded in 2016 by Thompson and Elliot Walker, aiming to make massage more accessible, inclusive and convenient for people across the UK. It offers a monthly subscription model, similar to streaming giant Netflix, that aims to make massage a regular part of people’s self-care routines. 

Since launching its first centre six years ago, TMC has experienced a steady rise in membership. It currently operates five centres across England, with locations in Camberley, High Wycome, Putney, Sutton Coldfield and Tunbridge Wells, and has an average member retention of more than 12 months.
