The Sustainable Beauty Coalition (SBC) will host a free live virtual event at the UN COP26 Climate Change Conference, today (Tuesday, November 2).

Taking place between 4pm and 5pm (GMT), the Planet Positive event will be live-streamed from Glasgow, Scotland, where world leaders are currently gathered to tackle climate change.

The panel event, hosted by journalist, author and British Vogue contributing beauty editor Kathleen Baird-Murray, will focus on how beauty consumers can make greener choices.

The Sustainable Beauty Coalition was founded by the British Beauty Council

Baird-Murray will be joined by SBC representatives Oriele Frank, Jessi Baker, Michelle Feeney, Jo-Anne Chidley and Jayn Sterland.

Founded by the British Beauty Council, the SBC aims to further the sustainability efforts of the beauty industry and work with government representatives to support the race to net-zero campaign.

To further its cause, the SBC has recently produced the Planet Positive Beauty Guide to help consumers make greener buying decisions.

“Collaboration is critical to tackling climate change... our Planet Positive Beauty Guide thoroughly tackles greenwashing."

Aiming to tackle greenwashing, the guide has been designed to help consumers confidently navigate through confusing ingredient jargon and claims.

“Collaboration is critical to tackling climate change,” said British Beauty Council CEO Millie Kendall, MBE.

“I’m so proud to have witnessed the coming together of some of the industry’s leading experts who created an easy-to-follow consumer guide, enabling us to make conscious decisions about beauty products and services. This guide thoroughly tackles greenwashing,” she added.

The Planet Positive event takes place today (November 2) at 4:00PM
